This milestone allows you to pick between one of the two items – Toni Kroos’s End of an Era and Steven Gerrard’s GOTG Icon (GOTG – Greats of the Game).
Why should you pick Toni Kroos End of an Era in EA FC 24
Steven Gerrard’s icon card has received two levels of upgrades, thanks to England’s performances at the Euro championships. The card has four great playstyle+ and an overall rating of 97. Icons also offer a chemistry boost in squad building, and it might seem that the former Liverpool captain is the obvious choice.
Except, it’s not that obvious, and Toni Kroos End of an Era card should be your pick. At first, the item might appear to be slightly inferior to Gerrard’s Icon card. It also doesn’t offer any extra chemistry when it comes to squad building. So, why should you choose this card?
In the current meta, you need a midfielder to sit deep and focus on defensive duties. This might be insignificant in lower divisions, but you’ll need the requirement for a pure defensive midfielder as you rank up. Kroos’ M/H work rate means that he will mostly operate deep, in front of your backline.
The presence of Intercept+ is vital for a DM, and Kroos offers that. His defensive AI movement is top-notch, and he rarely loses his position on the field. He also has Anticipate for the the tackle merchants out there. But in the current meta, a central midfielder has to pass well and connect the long balls. His Long Ball Pass+ means that you can use him to send in the diagonals and connect with your wingbacks/wingers.
His Relentless+ playstyle makes him an ideal candidate for the second press. You can be sure that he will play with the same intensity for 90 minutes, so there’s no need to sub him out during a match. Finally, Dead Ball+ and 95 Free Kick accuracy make him a deadly candidate when it comes to set pieces.
He has 90+ numbers in all key stats, with 99 Passing. Just boost his Defense and Physicality up with chemistry modifiers and you have an endgame CDM card. Lastly, always rely on the EA FC 24 esports professionals to decide how good a card is. It won’t be surprising to observe Kroos End of an Era being used heavily in the upcoming Pro championships.
If you are a Liverpool fan or badly need the chemistry boost, you can opt for Gerrard’s GOTG Icon card. You can do the same if you have a great CDM like Patrick Vieira’s Greats of the Game. However, Kroos is by far the better card and would be valued at close to a million coins if he was included in packs/released via an SBC.
