Can Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince demo save data be transferred to the full game?

The short answer is yes. You will be able to transfer the monsters in your main party and reserves to the full game when Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince releases on December 1. It seems, however, that your story progress won’t be carried to the full title.

The demo itself is quite lengthy at a few hours long, so if you know for sure that you’ll play this game and love it, you may want to wait for the full experience. Otherwise, you’ll have to retrace your steps with the game.

It’s odd this particular Dragon Quest game doesn’t carry over all of your save progress. Dragon Quest XI S Definitive Edition has a juicy 10-hour demo that continues into the full game once you purchase it. Other Square Enix titles like Octopath Traveler 2 and Bravely Default 2 also carry this trend.

How much storage space do you need for the game?

Thankfully, the game won’t require much storage space on your Nintendo Switch. It’s quite impressive for a JRPG such as this as it only takes 4.2GB of storage, according to the Nintendo eShop. To put that into comparison, Dragon Quest XI S Definitive Edition is 14GB. By the way, that critically acclaimed game is currently 30% off until December 3, 2023.
