Play the GDC demo before you back it

Not too long ago we got our first look at Chasm, a game billed as a “2D fantasy [action] RPG platformer featuring procedurally generated Metroid-like dungeons and authentic pixel art.” It’s like they took all of the best words and put them together.

On the game’s Kickstarter page, you can download the GDC demo to see what the fuss is all about, and if you like what you play, you can pledge some money toward getting this game made. Currently, after only a few days into the Kickstarter campaign, Chasm is sitting pretty at over $50,000 pledged, more than a third of the final goal.

If I were a rich man, I’d put in to become a pixel art NPC in the game. Alas, $1,000 for that is a bit out of my price range.
